La Conquista is a film about the "Conquista" which is term, USA should know, that Mexico consistently uses to refer to the period in which the Sapnish arrived here in America.
thus, we see immediately a chagne in persepctive form teh US person[s, who says colonial times, and thus gives no reference to the life here before and the effect of the arrival of foreigners on this land.
Now that it is Columbus Day or Dia de la Raza (exactly why was that name changed?)Well with a it of looking into history with Wikipedia, we find out it is named different things in different countries. Moreover,, it is interesting to note that Columbus Day first became official holiday, in my home state of Colorado in 1906, and a federal one until 1937!
Why it is interesting to discuss this, as pertains to the concept of Continental Unity? continued concept from previous blog. As we get into the topic of perspectives here on this continent, and the ability to find common ground in the dwellers of this land.
So the main issue, Contiental Unity, has a a sub theme " Interest of Each Nation vs. Overall Body (Continent) interest."
In living and being from Denver, yet having traveled throughout North America, I also spent part of my chidlhood in mexico. Thus, I can truly say i love and appreciate this North Aemrican continent. I feel all of America is my home. Time, space and Matter. In the beginning, God created the heavens and Earth. I love North America because it is more specifically my home. Yet, I angst for the day I will know more and discover its beauty. Its completeness.
So, in talikign about perspective, Conquistador or Colonist,i ask myself how my awereness of my Continetn affects thisperepctive. Because ti was made whole. If some inhabiters perceive it as divided , will that ultimately have an effect on the development overall? Will it affect the direction and overall sense of unity? I.e. do not only countires have a sense of unity, but is teh overall continental Unity perceivable and valued?
and the conceptualization of how the body flows and functions as a whole? This higher order question adn in depth preoccupation, whihc is wehr ewe need tobe , comesonly after initial awereness has coem baout. So I hope this essay serves to enlighten a bit about this basic fact, but jsut s before konwing hte Earth was flat, we lived with the perceptiion the Earth woudl "end" and people or things would fall over. into an abyss. Similarly, America is a Continent that needs to be perceived, for itself,. Not only as a colony of Europe, no!! America needs to be free finally of Europe!!! We need to quit calling Western values all the same, European and American ones! They are not the same. Maybe US and Canada feel so because they didn' t mix into America but other than that, no one else has the same values as a European here.

why the narco debate is actually a quest for Continental Unity
What are some fo the pros and contras in the narco debate?
First of all, we have heard that there is this thing called medical use for Marijuana, and thus a gradual lessneing of the crime behind possesing marijauna has decreased, notably in the US . Also, Canada, which is part of North America, also has legalized now atleast in some areas the growth of two plants. So, here in Mexico, one asks, if we are part of North America on trade and on geographical land, why are we not legalizing it more? Defintely, some of the politicians are for it. But Mexico must confront 1) it's Inquisitional Catholic past, and 2) the connection, comraderie, unified interest of well being with North America as a whole.
Ron Paul gave a speech in the US saying that just because heroin is made legal doesn'[t really mean you will go out and use heroin. He speaks very much to the concept of personal responsibilty for one's actions and not blaming the legality of something for using it. So, obviously the discussion about drugs, their history in the human race and its quest, has to be had. Once we talk more about the huge issue that is human drug consumption, instead of keep hiding it under the table and acting like only weirdos use them, then we can avoid much violence related to drugs. Ironically people against legalization think all kinds of violence will break out. I wonder, what do they think about all the violence that breaks out due to organized crime since it it illegal ??? It's weird to defend themselves by saying there would be violence from drugs becoming legal , in light of all the violence coming out of it being illegal! So yes, when will we have an actual , intelligent, not based on old ways, talk?
